Heli Aramo-Immonen
Dr (Tech) Heli Aramo-Immonen, Adjunct professor will be the Lead Investigator and WP leader in WP1 and WP5. Her research interests include knowledge management and organisational learning in shipbuilding networks and resource interaction in industrial networks (IMP SIG). She has previously worked at Wärtsilä Oyj as purchase manager, Nohab Diesel, Tampere University of Technology as University Lecturer in Industrial Management, Exeter University as Honorary Research Fellow in innovation management, Örebro University as Associate professor in industrial Marketing and at Turku UAS Master School as Lead Investigator in H2020 project CoSIE and Principal Lecturer from 2020-.
Janne Siivonen
M.Sc. (Tech) Janne Siivonen works as a Senior Lecturer in Industrial Engineering and Management, and he is a member of Logistics research group at Turku UAS. He has a professional background in the automotive export industry where he has had a horizontal career having several managerial positions. He is an expert in operations management, digital production management and development, product life cycle management, supply chain management and product development management. WP leader in WP3.
Jenni Aitonurmi
M.Sc. (Tech) Jenni Aitonurmi works as a Leader of Education and Senior Lecturer in Industrial Engineering and Management, and
she is a member of Logistics research group at Turku UAS. She has a professional shipbuilding background, where she has had expert positions in product data management. She is an expert in product life cycle management, supply chain management and has experience especially in implementation projects and system integrations.
Heidi Salokangas
Heidi Salokangas, MSc (Tech) in industrial management with 20 years of experience in quality management in the manufacturing industry in various roles from production, design and implementation to monitoring and continuous improvement. Currently working as a Senior Lecturer in Quality Management at Turku UAS Master School, where she shares her expertise and experience with future quality management professionals. The S4M project fits for her due to doctoral studies on sustainability management. Research interests are knowledge management processes of accountability knowledge. How companies can collect, analyse and use sustainability data to improve their business performance and competitiveness.
Irfan Ameer
Dr Irfan’s areas of research include sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and governance-related issues in business. His research has been published in the leading journals, such as Journal of Business Research, Journal of Managerial Psychology, Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management, Critical Perspectives on International Business, International Review of Entrepreneurship.
Health Technology Research Group
The research group in Health Technology produces research, development and innovation services for the needs of health and sport technology. We are an active expert partner of product developers. The research data, applications and operational procedures we produce can be used to create high-quality, data-based solutions to support quality of life, well-being and health.
Kimmo Tarkkanen
Senior Lecturer Kimmo Tarkkanen (M.Sc.) is an expert in information systems development (ISD) and organisational implementation, data modeling and database design, user research and human-centered design. WP leader in WP2.
Ali Khan
Senior Lecturer Dr (Tech) Ali Hanzala Khan will be participating as a researcher in WP2. His research interests include knowledge engineering, enterprise architecture, ontologies, the semantic web, software architecture, and reasoning. He has previously worked at HCT, NUST, Åbo Akademi, KTH, Stockholm University, and FOI Swedish Defence Research Agency.

Kaisa Sorsa
Kaisa Sorsa Dr (D.Sc. (Bus.Adm.)), LL.D., Adjunct Professor of regulatory studies, UTU, Adjunct Professor of contract- and marketing law, UEF, Principal Lecturer at Turku UAS, contributes the project as WP leader in WP4 and senior investigator in WP1, WP2 and WP3. Her research interests include transition management analysis, methods and tools, value chain management, proactive law and proactive contracting, system level innovations and innovations in law and regulations.
Resilient Supply Chain Management Research Group
A resilient supply chain is flexible, adaptable and resilient to disruptions. It is able to adapt quickly to changes in the operating environment. Our operations range from company-level development tasks to industry-level extensive development issues, such as security of supply, transport and land use development, transport markets, and regional and international logistics issues. The research group has extensive connections to the business sector, regional and national public organisations, and advocacy organisations. We are skilled in international project cooperation and are involved in several EU-funded projects, and we are constantly developing our own cooperation network in Finland and abroad.
Jari Hietaranta
Research Group Leader Lic. Phil. Jari Hietaranta is an expert in logistics, material and supply chain management.
Harri Heikkinen
Harri Heikkinen holds a Licentiate of Science degree (Phil.lic) in Transport and Road Engineering and a Master of Science (Technology) in the field of Production Engineering and Logistics. He works as a senior lecturer in business logistics at Turku UAS. He has over 10 years of work experience from the University of Applied Sciences and has participated with distinction in international and domestic project work in an expert role.
Sakari Kajander
M.Sc. (Tech) Sakari Kajander is a member of the Logistics and Transport Research Group and holds a degree in Industrial Engineering and Management. He has 25 years of RDI experience in maritime transport and logistics and maritime industry networks. He has previously worked at the Centre for Maritime Studies at the University of Turku.
Circular Business Models Research Group
The research group advances circular business together with companies and develops the teaching of circular economy in national and international networks. We strive for impact and sustainable change, and we want to create a world where people and nature thrive.
Erika Raitala
M.Sc. (Tech) Erika Raitala is an expert on life cycle analyses (LCA) and CO2 emission measurements. She has experience in cooperation with companies and helping them make changes in their processes towards circular economy.
Nani Pajunen
D.Sc. (Tech), Lic.Sc. (Env.law), Nani Pajunen is a Leading Specialist in sustainability and circular economy at Turku UAS and at the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra. She has over 25 years of experience in industry, academia, and consultancy. In her work, she focuses on systemic change from a linear economy towards a sustainable and fair global economy, by developing solutions where global market economy is based on the sustainable use of natural resources and low-carbon circular economy business. Her expertise is to help different sectors of society, public and private organizations to succeed in an uncertain market situation when sustainability crisis and lack of energy and raw materials are reality. Nani holds a doctorate in material science, a licentiate environmental law, and a master’s in civil engineering, with additional qualifications as a vocational teacher.
Sini Ilmonen
M.Sc. (Econ), Sini Ilmonen is an expert in stakeholder collaboration, value chains, and circular economy. She has participated in EU-level discussions on recycling legislation and sustainable raw materials. With experience in logistics, sustainable mining, and waste management, Sini specializes in textile recycling and helping businesses implement ESG goals and sustainable practices
Andrew Peltonen
M.Sc. (Econ) Andrew Peltonen is an expert in personal sustainability decision-making and competing demands between sustainability dimensions He has collaborated with multiple businesses and sustainability professionals to uncover the challenges and possibilities that many sustainability professionals face daily.
